2024 Meets Diary
Interested in going on a trip? We have tried to come up with a varied meets diary which caters for the E-grader as well as some more family/beginner orientated trips. And for the second year we’ll be running a session in May where we hope to introduce a few more people to the delights of Southern Sandstone!
Ongoing
In addition to scheduled trips, our “routine” unscheduled meets depend on the time of year. During the indoor part of the season we try to meet up one evening a week at an indoor wall. At the moment this usually takes place on Wednesday evenings – usually either at K2 Crawley or High Sports in Withdean, Brighton, and sometimes at Volume 1, East Grinstead. But it does vary from week to week so please check to be sure.
During the outdoor part of the season we are typically at Stone Farm rocks most Wednesday evenings if the weather is good enough, and most weekends there will be a group of us at Harrisons or one of the smaller sandstone crags.
February
11th February: Crag Walk – a traditional walk along the Southeast’s sandstone crags. Probably too early to do much climbing, but a good chance to see some of the smaller, less frequented outcrops.
March
4th March: The Sandstone Volunteers Group work day at Stone Farm Rocks – we climb there a lot, so it’s good to help with the upkeep of the site.
May
19th May: “Introduction to Sandstone” guidance/trial session for people wanting to make a transition from indoor bouldering/climbing to sandstone – Link to the event is here: Eventbrite booking – Sandstone Taster Session
20th – 21st May: The Gower, probably including a session climbing off the beach at Rhossili.
June
17th – 18th June: Swanage – probably a day trip.
July
5th – 7th July: North Wales – Tal-y-Braich hut booked for 10.
29th – 30th July: Dartmoor – an exploration of the Tors.
September
Date TBA: 5 days in Kalymnos – aspirational only…
